Like many people, I have a complicated relationship with alcohol. I like to drink it, and it likes to return the favour by kicking me in the head and guts.
From time to time, therefore, I like to take a break from boozing. That's why I'm giving Dry January a go.
According to the Dry January website, people who take a break from alcohol in January save money, lose weight, sleep better, and have more energy.
All the times I've abstained, I've certainly noticed having more money and energy, which are both very nice things. Until now, though, I haven't recorded anything. So although I think I'm saving money and feeling better, there's no real record of it.
I intend to change that this year, by recording the amount of money I've saved (based on an average month's worth of beer), and also any differences in weight and energy.
Anybody else doing it?
