Ubco 2x2 Electric Utility Bike

Now that manufacturers are actually making electric vehicles that look good, perform well and - in many cases - don't cost more than an average house, they're becoming genuinely viable and desirable alternatives to the fossil-fuelled, polluting variety.

This is a good thing for a number of reasons, as it may hopefully stop us destroying the planet at such a rate, and will equally hopefully reduce the price of electric vehicles even more in the future.

Although companies like Tesla get a lot of press, you don't see too many electric motorcycles getting mentioned. Well, at least I don't.

Yet there are quite a few of them out there. Anyway, that's why the Ubco 2x2 Utility Bike caught my eye.

New Zealand-based Ubco have designed a great looking electric motorbike with a top speed of 50km/h and a range of 120km which, in my opinion, makes it a brilliant choice for commuting.

Couple that with dual electric drive (the bike version of 4x4), no clutch - meaning "bullet proof low-speed control" - improved handling both on- and off-road, excellent acceleration and traction in slippery conditions, very low maintenance, and no oil changes or engine specific replacements, why would you want a comparable regular motorbike?
