The Nokia 3310 is back. Is this the start of a backlash against smartphones?

As it's nowhere near April 1st yet, I'm going to assume this is true: Nokia is bringing back the legendary 3310.

It can lay claim to being one of the best-loved and most resilient phones ever to hit the market, although it - and Nokia - faded from memory when smartphones took over.

The fact that they're bringing it back just might be an indication that people want something a bit simpler, and might prefer actually looking at the world around them rather than staring blankly into a screen all the bloody time.

In terms of design it didn't really set the world on fire, but being pretty much indestructible by today's standards with an awesome battery life, I'd seriously consider getting one if they become available in Japan.
