日本の伝統文様 Traditional Japanese patterns

(English below)

I've always liked traditional Japanese patterns, so I borrowed a book from the library so that I could learn a bit more about them rather than just enjoy the aesthetics.

There are tons of patterns based on animals, plants or geometric shapes which I hope to use as inspiration for t-shirt and bag designs. Aside from design ideas, though, the explanations for the patterns are very interesting, which is great as the story behind the designs is the primary reason for the stuff I'm making.

Hopefully there should be some new stuff based on these patterns coming soon.
