Simply stunning pieces of art and furniture from Canadian designer Brent Comber.
Benjamin Hubert continues to pursue his materials-driven design approach to great effect. He has released some new products to add to a collection which represents some of the nicest industrial design out there at the moment. Understated and beautiful.
Earlier this year, Kengo Kuma started the East Japan Project which supports traditional crafts in Eastern Japan, the area worst affected by the March 11th earthquake and tsunami.
The project has three aims (taken from the website):
They have recently produced Chidori for the project, a beautifully crafted modular furniture series produced by skilled carpenters from the Tohoku region.
Young British designer Benjamin Hubert is currently holding an exhibition of his work at the Directorenhaus, Berlin. Despite his age - he only graduated university five years ago - he has built an impressive body of design and a solid international reputation. It's great to see somebody young and talented getting the recognition he deserves.
Materiality is the inaugural solo show of Benjamin Hubert's industrial design work. The exhibition allows visitors into the working mind of the designer and his material driven design approach. > Benjamin Hubert
