Storm From The East is a Tokyo-based web magazine covering design, architecture, culture and news from Japan.
Started in March 2006, we attract an ever-increasing number of readers from Asia, Europe, North and South America and Africa.
Richard Knobbs (Editor & founder)
Richard is originally from the UK and has lived in Tokyo for ten years. His work has appeared in numerous print and web publications throughout the world and he currently works as a writer, editor, educator and illustrator. He enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, running, kick-boxing, surfing, skateboarding, writing and cooking.
He also runs a creative and education agency in Tokyo called K Creative and blogs about his new-found love of running (barefoot) at Bare Your Soles.
Ryo K
Ryo is a designer and illustrator born and raised in Tokyo. He divides his time between Tokyo, London, Paris and New York, working freelance and living the high-life. His spare time is spent skateboarding, surfing, taking pictures and making films.
Yuki Otomo
Yuki was born and raised in Tokyo, where he still lives. He writes about music for SFTE.
