Born into a family of explorers, inventors and adventurers,
Richard was buckling swashes before he could digest solid food.

A series of balloon flights and sea voyages saw him wash up on the shores of Japan.
There he settled, forging out an existence as an artisan and part-time ninja.

None of that is true, of course, except the part about living in Japan, but you don't need to know who my
favourite singer is (Stina Nordenstam), what food I like (cheese sandwiches) or how good I am at karate (crap).

You should be more concerned with details like these:

    * I have twenty years of experience and education spanning law, business, education, design and media.

    * I have been a teacher, in various guises, for nearly fifteen years.

    * I have been writing and editing for over a decade.
(Over three decades if you count my earlier 'work'.)

    * I have helped people launch products, start new ventures, land business deals, increase creativity and study overseas.

    * I have designed logos, websites and more for individuals, small businesses and multinational corporations.

    * I very rarely work with a client only once.

My work

I offer interdisciplinary services aimed at helping you tell your story in the most creative, engaging and professional way possible.

My work focuses on the things I love: writing, teaching and design.

Online learning

I have worked as a teacher since 1997, mainly teaching law, language and business.

A number of clients asked me to provide education services either exclusively or in addition to other services, hence I now provide online learning.

The magazine

What started out as a blog, with me writing short posts about things that caught my eye, has grown into a site read by thousands of people throughout the world.

I decided to call it a magazine, as pompous as that sounds, due to the nature of the articles and essays I now post.

You can find out more about my services and see some of my work here.

You can register for The Creative Instinct course here.

I welcome submissions and press releases to the magazine, and you can find details here.

If all that isn't enough for you, how about buying my book?
