And we're off...

Materials are being delivered, designs are being, erm, designed, and things are starting to get made!

I have no idea how this will turn out. It could turn into a great way to do what I enjoy and provide for my family, or it could crash and burn. Either way it's something I have wanted to try for a long time and I have little to lose except for the initial outlay.

The whole thing is being started with zero capital, but that's kind of how I wanted it. The lack of resources is allowing me to keep everything very minimal and ensure that everything I do is thought-out, not wasteful, and hands-on at all times. This idea is central to the business and the designs themselves.

I will not only design and create the items I plan to sell, but my wife and I will also individually wrap them and personally post them off to anybody who buys them.

I hope you'll enjoy what we make and I look forward to your support.

Design & Inspiration

All designs are inspired by the culture and nature of Japan - the things we see on a daily basis in or near our home and the things we love. Each design is sketched, revised, made into a prototype and revised again (any number of times) before a product is handmade.

In keeping with Japanese tradition, the overall aesthetic is one of simplicity, economy, modesty, intimacy and appreciation of nature.

Production & Materials

We use only materials produced in Japan, sourcing materials locally whenever possible. By producing goods in our home studio, we aim to reduce waste to zero where possible and pursue environmentally safe production methods.

All goods are handmade to order, ensuring that yours is unique, and each comes with a short explanation of the history and significance of the design printed on Japanese paper.
