The Wooster Group Benefit Auction at Sean Kelly Gallery
The Wooster Group will present their first benefit art auction on the occasion of their 35th anniversary. The auction, known as The Wooster (Support) Group, will include both live and silent art auctions of contemporary artwork and will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010. Funds raised from the benefit will help support The Wooster Group and its creation of new work. The benefit will be chaired by Frances McDormand, with support by the Rolex Institute, and hosted by Sean Kelly Gallery. Christie's will conduct the auction alongside celebrity guest auctioneer, Casey Spooner, who is an artist, performer and co-founder of Fischerspooner. Additional entertainment will be provided by the DJ duo, Andrew Andrew.

Tickets begin at $150 per person. Guests who purchase two tickets for $500 will receive a pair of tickets to The Wooster Group's North Atlantic, at the newly opened Jerome Robbins Theater of the Baryshnikov Arts Center, running from March 10 to April 25, 2010.

The Wooster Group is comprised of artists who create performance and media works. Since 1975, the Group has continued to aim at experimenting and cultivating new forms and techniques of expression within the dance, visual, media and theatrical arts realms.
