Toyota Dream Car Art Contest

The winners have been announced for the fourth Toyota Dream Car Art Contest.

The contest, held since 2004, aims to create an opportunity to encourage children's interest in cars, while also demonstrating the joy and importance of having a dream. This year's competition received approximately 19,000 entries from 12 countries and regions in Asia, including Japan.

At the awards ceremony, held on 28 July,
Toyota Senior Managing Director Yoshimasa Ishii expressed his hope that the dreams children have will lead to the creation of more affluent societies, saying:  "I was extremely impressed by the scale of the dreams reflected in the artwork, and I believe that every one of your dreams will have a major influence on the cars of tomorrow, as well as on the future of our planet."

All first- and second-place prizewinning pieces will be exhibited in the entrance hall of the Toyota Kaikan until August 31.  All prizewinning entries can be viewed at http://www.rdasia.com/rd/promotions/toyota/, the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest website.

I like cars. I think that cars are a very important development for human beings and that every day help us much in our lives.

I like it! It is really imaginative and dreamlike.
